Music Ministry - Celestial Chorus

Our choir supports liturgy by leading in the singing of hymns and sacred music for the congregation to enter into a deeper level of prayer at different parts of the Eucharistic Celebrations on Sundays.

Every Sunday morning, we reflect on the Word of God and how we can become better Disciples of Christ in our daily lives before we sing at the choir practice session. If the Lord calls you to sing in a choir, know that He is calling you into a deeper relationship with Him, as many of us have discovered.

“I have been singing since my school days but I love to sing in the church choir. I believe it is a calling. There is a lot of joy in fulfilling this and giving praise to the Lord” – Adeline Tan

“My family had always loved music. Joining the choir has given us deeper meaning in our spiritual growth, especially my kids. It is a way in which we draw closer to God” – Carol Mabuyo

“It was a blessing to have met Allison at the MRT Station and invited me to join the choir. I am grateful and always feel at peace and complete singing the Word of God during Eucharistic Celebration” – Sherylle Olalo

“My own journey has been blessed by the profound spiritual truth that I have learned through the songs and scripture readings. In the selection of hymns for example, it lets me understand why the piece was chosen and the song becomes even more beautiful. It helps me to pray better and sing the music better too” – Grena Dofeliz

Grateful for the opportunity to be a psalmist and conductor. I have learned that it is not just getting all the notes right but singing and conducting with prayer is more important. This helps me grow as a musician and Catholic – Carlos Jose Lazara

Singing the mass is always a joyous occasion. I converse with God in song and connect with the congregation. I am reminded of the saying, “One who sings, prays twice”. – Mary Tan

Ephesians 5:19-20 “Sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs among yourselves, singing and chanting to the Lord in your hearts, always and everywhere giving thanks to God who is our Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - Amelia Tan

Our choir’s weekly rehearsal is Sunday at 9am, St. Luke’s Room. This important time together is centered on prayer and practice.
